Very often, we toss around the terms \u201cblack,” \u201cLatina,\u201d and \u201cwhite\u201d as if we all agree on what they mean. Yet a look at history shows that ideas about our nation\u2019s racial categories \u2013 what they are and who fits into them \u2013 are always changing. And in particular, answers to the question \u201cwho\u2019s white?\u201d have never been simple.<\/p>\n
